Access: About a mile east of Bournemouth pier, well signposted and easy to get to with parking right on the beach. Nearby to either Bournemouth or Pokesdown train station.
Facilities: As part of the artificial reef project showers and changing will be installed and there is also a surf school. There are toilets and a cafe right on the beach. Sorted surf shop is located nearby on ’42 Sea Road’ which is a great shop, they have board and wetsuit hire aswell as test boards. They will be happy to look after your stuff if you asked nicely. Check out their website http://www.sortedsurfshop.co.uk
Info: After Bournemouth this is the second most popular spot, therefore gets very crowded when solid. However, with the artificial reef to be installed in summer 08 it will be likely to overtake Bournemouth Pier. At the moment there is a good wave to be had although a slightly shorter ride than Bournemouth, for both long and shortboarders. This spot will be likely to become an epic surfing hotspot in years to come once the reef has been installed. For more information check out the ‘reef’ section.
