Info: Located in the middle of 10 kilometres of golden sands, Bournemouth pier is the main surfing spot for the south. The pier provides shelter from the wind with good waves to be had in the winter. Gets pretty crowded when it’s good, locals are friendly if you respect them and the area. On a clean day it will give a wave suitable for both short and longboarders. Also known as pigeons bay after a surfer rescued a drowning pigeon and surfed in with it on his board.
